Treatment plans

Keep structured treatment plans for the clinical work that calls for them — without the compliance-first clutter of a typical EHR.

How do I create a treatment plan?

From a therapy client’s page, open the actions menu and choose Treatment Plan. On a client’s very first therapy session, saving the session with Save and Continue also leads you into creating their first plan.

A treatment plan has these fields:

  • Presenting Problem
  • Frequency — Weekly, Monthly, or Ongoing
  • Objective
  • Goal
  • Diagnosis — one or more ICD codes
  • Notes

Why can’t I edit a saved plan?

Treatment plans are immutable by design. Rather than editing a plan in place, you create a New Treatment Plan whenever the diagnosis or approach changes. This keeps an honest record of how care evolved. All future sessions are automatically associated with the current plan.

Where to find it: a client’s current plan also appears in the Current Treatment Plan card in the client sidebar, with an Open treatment plan → link.

How do treatment plans relate to superbills?

The ICD diagnosis codes on a client’s most recent treatment plan populate the diagnosis line on their superbill, so you don’t have to re-enter them.
